Atomic and molecular architectures on surfaces exhibit distinct quantum properties. Their reproducible manufacturing is gaining momentum and goes far beyond the single atom and the single spin. This is due to recent experimental breakthroughs and, on the other hand, due to increasing demand from other research areas, in particular quantum science/technology and quantum computing.

The conference will be held from August 21st to 25th, 2022, at the conference center
Congressi Stefano Franscini. It is situated in the south of Switzerland on top of a small mountain with the nickname "Mountain of Truth" i.e.
"Monte Verità" linking to its past as an epicentre of cultural inspiration and liberal thinking.

For the best poster/contributed oral presentation at the conference, the conference will award one young scientist with a prize of CHF 500, together with a certificate and a small Monte Verità memento. To be eligible for the award, the participant must be under 33 years old and either a PhD student or someone who has obtained her/his doctoral degree within the last 3 years.
